ReplyDeleteYou probably don't even remember this, but I tried contacting you a long time ago to see if you ever wanted some free graphics made. I know you said that you're not trying to take the business very seriously right now since school is your main priority. As a fellow full time college student, I totally understand! And considering the tongue in cheek, and also somewhat urban/alternative nature of your brand, I'm sure you probably think my style is far too, well... (cutesy) to truly represent your unique style overall. But I really didn't want to give up on the idea of working with you someday. And it made me sad that a brand with such incredible potential was limited by the current graphic you have (a quite pixelated / very minimal sun).
So anyways, I went behind your back and put together some sketches and assembled them in Illustrator about 6 months ago, and I've been meaning to send them to you ever since, but I was so nervous that you wouldn't like them, that ever since I made them, they've just been sitting in my hard drive serving no purpose whatsoever. So if you don't like them, or if you don't think that they'll work for your brand, it's totally okay! Worst case scenario is that I'll just add them to my portfolio, which is all I ever really wanted to do anyways.

I actually made even more illustrations for you, one being an actual avatar based off of the picture I saw on your profile, and started developing a website by hand-coding it around the images and information you already have up on your website. But I got discouraged since I wasn't sure what your style was, and I really didn't want to put in even more effort, only to discover that you truly had no interest whatsoever in working together. And now that I know your email address is down, I'm really starting to question whether or not you're even making jewelry anymore. Regardless, hopefully all is well with you. = )
So yeah...I'm not sending you any of that stuff as of now, since it's not quite finished, and I'm not positive when it will be done. If you wind up liking the image I've sent you though, I'll probably get excited and wind up working on the rest of the work I mentioned whenever I'm not dealing with my own school-work.
Anyways, if our styles don't match up, it's totally cool. But if you think that maybe we might be able to collaborate on something in the future, I'd absolutely love to know what inspires you, and what your style truly is. I tried asking you before, but I really didn't get much feedback. So I just went with a picture I had in my own mind.

I'd love to have some honest feedback of how I can improve this image (that is if you think there's even the slightest chance you could use it, even in a completely altered state), and that way any future work I may send to you (this time with your permission of course) will actually fit your style to a T (at least I'd hope to accomplish that). = P Anyways, have a great weekend!
